The Department of Civil Engineering of University Polytechnic was established in the year 2013.
Civil engineers plan, design, develop, build, manage, rehabilitate and operate the physical elements of the human habitat. Almost every aspect of everyday life is impacted by projects conceived, designed and constructed by Civil Engineers. Civil Engineering, like all other fields, is comprised of many sub disciplines. Primary areas of concentration include transportation, geotechnical, environmental, structural engineering, construction engineering and management.
Over the years the department has nurtured young minds to produce bright and competent civil engineers. The department has well-qualified and experienced faculty members and excellent infrastructure that supports the imparting of education. The curriculum of the programme is framed to have deep understanding of fundamental principles and concepts to handle the latest challenges in Civil Engineering. The Department also encourages its students to engage in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities to bring out their inherent talents and to develop team spirit and organizational skills.
