On the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation day on Thursday, October 1, 2020 Uttaranchal College of  Polytechnic, Uttaranchal University organized a slogan writing competition event under the auspices of NSS. Dr. V. K. Srivastava, Head of National Service Scheme Uttaranchal University,called upon all the students from all the four branches of diploma engineering to wholeheartedly participate and spread the awareness of the importance of donating blood.

As the college is not allowing the students to physically attend the classes following the government guidelines regarding COVID-19 the event was organized online under the supervision of one of the senior faculty members of Uttaranchal College of  Polytechnic Ms. SapnaBisht who urged the students to inspire the people at large in the society to come forward to help those patients who are in dire need of blood in these difficult pandemic times.

The event was organized in sync with the national objective of promoting and emphasizing the self esteem of blood donors through a lot of thanks and To stimulate people to donate blood voluntarily who are interested in donating blood only to their relatives or friends.

The students were asked to creatively write slogans on chart paper and share with the event coordinator and it was only due to the sheer enthusiasm of the students that many slogans and pictures were received in the college which would be duly sent for display on the official website of the university.

The efforts of the students was recognized through certificates which were awarded to them by the Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Shah who in his very brief online address to the students congratulated the participants for their big support to the event on such a short notice and for carrying the legacy of the college progressing further ahead.
