Uttaranchal College of Polytechnic, Uttaranchal University, has always been at the forefront in promoting gender equality and developing the cause of women education in the institution to make our students responsible citizens of tomorrow in an environment of the country where we have the richness & diversity of religion, culture, and traditions. We at UCP not only impart the knowledge and hone the technical and vocational skills of our students but also groom the attitude of our pupils to be able to appreciate those cultural, moral, and religious values which have been a hallmark of our great civilization in the world.
With the spirit of developing the oral communication & analytical skills along with instilling into them a higher degree of confidence as a professional the college organized a debate competition on 13th February 2019, exclusively for the students of the college in which many girl students participated on the occasion of the “International Day for Women and Girls in Science”. The topic of the debate was “What are the reasons of less number of female students in technical and vocational education?”
Many students from all the three years and branches of engineering participated in the debate and expressed their views on the topic including Jyoti Chaurasia (CSE, I Year), Kareena Khatoon (CE, II Year) , Deepika , Mehak Chauhan( CSE, I Year), and Divyam Chaudhary .
Dr. S. K. Shah, Principal – UCP appreciated the thought process and the efforts of all the students. He also congratulated the committee members of the “Kriti Club” for their innovative thinking and approach.
It was also announced by him that these students would also represent the college in the future in various inter college debate events of the University.
All the students were appreciated by Dr. S. K. Shah who in his short address to the students encouraged them to work towards an all round development of their personalities and make their parents as well the College & the University proud by their achievements.
